A great sire, Canyon is sire and grandsire to
many of the breed's best cattle. He is in the top 14% of the
breed for Direct Calving Ease; the top 12% for Milk, top 1% for
Heifer Pregnancy, the top 17% for Stayability, and top 23% for
Marbling.
Canyon sold
in 1989 to the Messmers, and bred naturally there every year
until he was permanently retired to stud, then retirement. He
died in 2002. Extremely correct and well muscled, Canyon passes
his excellent conformation, capacity, great fleshing & gaining
ability on to his progeny. He is a prepotent sire for producing
sons that are thick, deep, well muscled, and fast gaining. His
daughters are highly maternal and productive, with worlds of
capacity. Combining some of our best maternal lines, Canyon's
dam Carrie 473, is MGD to BUF CRK Hobo 1961, as well as MGD to
BUF CRK Barney 3474. |
